The answer is not to take more vacations or buy your dream car (though those things can certainly be nice). According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2014\/08\/140808111931.htm#:~:text=Summary%3A,Habits%20emerge%20through%20associative%20learning.&amp;text=An%20important%20characteristic%20of%20a,habits%20in%20our%20own%20behavior.\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science Daily<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cStudies show that about 40 percent of people\u2019s daily activities are performed each day in almost the same situations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On an average day, you might wake up, roll out of bed, and put on your robe while you walk to the kitchen to make coffee (habit). While your coffee brews, you check the news (habit). You eat the same thing you eat every day for breakfast (habit), and it just keeps going from there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-095b377 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"095b377\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-42b7047\" data-id=\"42b7047\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0714249 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"0714249\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" src=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Smoothie-Bowl-Stock-Photo-1024x683.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-88778\" alt=\"Overhead shot of a smoothie bowl breakfast\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f68b08e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f68b08e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">We can be very aware, or very unaware, of our habits.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-defd258 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"defd258\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nighttime snacking might be a habit you want to break, while you\u2019d like to pick up running 4 times a week. When you take control of your habits, you shape your life. And the great thing about picking up a healthy habit is that it snowballs into more <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/staying-healthy\/harvard-researchers-say-healthy-habits-may-add-years-to-your-life\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">healthy habits<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (read on to learn about \u201cgateways\u201d).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first thing you want to do is make it as easy as possible. Step back, think about what you want, why, what you might need to get there, and get it all prepared. It can be easy to gloss over the \u201cwhy\u201d with something obvious like \u201close weight,\u201d but hang around until you feel you\u2019ve hit bottom. The real reason you may want to lose weight is to feel comfortable in your body or be able to chase your grandkids. Knowing your \u201cwhy\u201d and keeping it in mind changes a habit from something hard to something easy and in line with your values.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-70dbbc6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"70dbbc6\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-77065d3\" data-id=\"77065d3\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5229aea elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"5229aea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" src=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/iStock-811247542-1024x683.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-89641\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4dd884a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4dd884a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Start with small steps.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a9545c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7a9545c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll notice (faster than you think) how they add up to something huge. Maybe you decide to walk for a quarter mile each evening. After a while, the fresh air makes you want to stay out a little longer, so you go up to a half-mile, then a mile. Now that you\u2019re outside all the time feeling good from the fresh air, you want to try running, so you jog that mile and feel invigorated. You get home and want to nourish your body, so you reach for fresh, nutritious, and satisfying food. Now you\u2019ve picked up the habit of eating healthier. When you lay your head on your pillow at night, you sleep well thanks to exercise and a good meal. Now that you\u2019re sleeping great and waking up rested, you feel fresh and ready for the new day. Those little things build on one another until you\u2019re feeling balanced, calm, healthy, and full of energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-347f182 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"347f182\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-46769a5\" data-id=\"46769a5\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8e534bf elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"8e534bf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Gardyn-healthy-habits.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-88876\" alt=\"Gardyn buils healthy habits\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dc5af4d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"dc5af4d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">It can be tricky to work on healthy habits.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a583f6a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a583f6a\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-71ebed5\" data-id=\"71ebed5\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b2ae8ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b2ae8ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why I like to find what I call \u201cgateways.\u201d Having a dog can be a gateway to being outside and moving more. Choosing not to have a car can be a gateway to walking more and owning fewer things. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/product\/gardyn-home-kit\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gardyn<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> itself is a gateway to a healthy lifestyle. All you have to do is open the box, set it up, and wait for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/how-it-works\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fresh, beautiful food<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to show up. Having gleaming produce in your line of sight all the time reminds you to eat it more. The beauty of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mygardyn.com\/plants\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plants<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inspires you to cook delicious food packed with nutrients. You wind up sharing more meals around the table. It feels good, and feeling good makes it easy to pick up another healthy habit, which makes it even easier to pick up yet another, and so on. It\u2019s such a simple start and requires so little of you to begin and maintain. So why not?
